INGE

Phoebe Porter’s Inge collection was created to celebrate the 100th birthday of the exceptional Australian sculptor Inge King.

Commissioned by the National Gallery of Australia Shop to coincide with a major survey exhibition of Inge and Graeme King’s work, some designs from this series are still available as part of Phoebe’s Signature Collection

From the 1970s onward, Inge King's work often featured discs, rings, and blades, forms precisely constructed with refined surface treatments. Predominantly working with natural stainless steel or deep black finishes, with occasional bold primary colours, Inge’s aesthetic profoundly influenced this jewellery collection.

In this series, Phoebe Porter interprets these iconic forms into wearable art, combining her signature precision with the spirit of King’s sculptural legacy. Using a palette of industrial materials and bold geometric shapes, the Inge Collection reflects the intersection of art, form, and functionality, staying true to the visual language established by the celebrated sculptor.
